Abyss - Patricia Nasello

A light shiver and she stops being.
Still beautiful, but useless. Dry.
The tree doesn’t recognize her any more, nothing attaches her to the branch. She’s free.
She’s dead.
Falling. Because of her own weight, as every dead body falls.
When about to touch the floor a gust of wind lifts her.
Even so, she seems to fly.
