The most interesting traces were, however, the sexual fantasies the patients couldn’t bring themselves to tell him; these hid themselves behind Helen Kaplan’s Illustrated Manual of Sexual Therapy. Once a week, the therapist gathered them together, put them in a bag, and gave them to the owner of the sex shop on the corner.
